Is used for Sub-Surface imaging, GPR is Electro-magnetic energy “EM” it is used for the inspection of concrete, sand, wood, and asphalt etc. EM energy is transmitted through materials and is subject to attenuation (natural absorption). When used properly it is a great technology for locating Embedded Elements like Rebar, PT Cables, Conduit, etc. Metal targets reflect bright reflection as opposed to non-ferrous material only reflecting energy. Metal as thin as foil or a tight mesh is impenetrable and you will not see beneath it. It will also penetrate several feet into the sub-surface allowing you to look deep into the surface you are inspecting.
